Director
Real Estate
Paul is a Director in our Real Estate Team. He works with clients to understand their business so he can deliver complex real estate projects within timescales and with minimal fuss. During the course of his career, Paul has worked on most aspects of transactional real estate work, acting for local and national government departments, registered social landlords, retailers, restaurants, hotel chains and banks. He can, he says, turn his hand to most things.
When it comes to ‘typical’ clients, Paul says for him there’s no such thing. His clients do however share a common objective – trying to get their deals done on time and on budget. Paul particularly enjoys building long term relationships with clients and being able to witness how the deals he has a hand in completing help to grow their business or organisation.
Asked how he would describe his approach to client work, Paul says, “I try to understand the client’s objectives, and of course I try and meet these”.
On life at Walker Morris Paul notes that it’s a great place to work and he describes it as “striking a perfect balance between strong Leeds roots and expert knowledge of our client’s legal needs”.
Paul came to the law after reading perhaps one too many John Grisham novels as a youngster. From Leeds originally, he wanted to stay in the region and Walker Morris’s outstanding real estate practice and expertise under one roof made it too good a proposition to miss out on. “It’s rewarding to work on some of the most complex and high-profile real estate matters in the country”.
