Dispute Resolution

Meet Nick's team

“I enjoy working with clients to develop and put in place strategies that will help clients achieve their goals, resolve disputes and manage risk”

Nick is a Partner in our Dispute Resolution team.  Nick specialises in all aspects of commercial litigation and international arbitration. He is also known for his experience resolving disputes through alternative dispute resolution, including adjudication, expert determination and mediation.

Although Nick acts for clients across a broad range of sectors, he has developed specific experience in the energy and infrastructure sector.

A strategic thinker

Nick’s clients are usually large corporates or energy clients, and working with them to develop strategies to deal with difficult situations is the part of his job he finds most rewarding. Even when litigation or arbitration is unavoidable, finding a way to achieve a positive outcome is a motivating factor for Nick.

“I work closely with my clients to fully understand their business, which is a huge help when developing appropriate strategies”

When Nick talks about his strengths, he mentions attention to detail and identifying alternative solutions, both of which make it possible to support clients and develop a clear path towards a resolution.

Nick says, “Litigation can be stressful for clients” and his approach is very much focused on their end goal.  He wants his clients to feel less stressed, knowing that he is there to build strong, long-lasting relationships based firmly on the foundations of collaboration, practical and commercial advice. It’s probably no surprise that this collaborative approach to client work is mirrored throughout Walker Morris.

Nick is a member of the Walker Morris International Trade team and Walker Morris’ International Committee.  He is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb) and a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA).

Prior to joining Walker Morris Nick worked in-house for two years, and completed a six-month secondment in the Energy sector.
