Specialist sports lawyers at Walker Morris have advised Nottingham Forest FC on a busy summer transfer window. The Team has assisted with 20 transactions so far with new Head Coach Sabri Lamouchi, who joined the Club at the end of June, looking to make his mark on the team that finished in 9th place in the Championship at the end of last season.
The Walker Morris team has advised the Club in respect of players joining on a permanent basis from Arsenal and internationally from France, Portugal, Spain and Russia; and on loan from Manchester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers and internationally from France and Portugal.
One of the highlights of the transfer window was highly rated England international defender Carl Jenkinson joining the Club for an undisclosed fee on a three year deal from Arsenal on 7 August; see the Club’s website:

A number of players have also left the Club and joined other English clubs, both permanently and on loan, or have joined clubs overseas. Another successful academy graduate, Ben Osborn, made the step up to join newly promoted Premier League side (and Walker Morris client) Sheffield United on a three year deal for an undisclosed fee after making 230 appearances for the Club and scoring 15 goals.
With the European window remaining open for the next couple of weeks as well as Championship clubs having the ability to loan players down the league, no doubt there will be more movements to come.
Work for the Club has included drafting incoming and outgoing transfer and loan agreements, both domestically and internationally, drafting compensation agreements for young players joining the club and reviewing player contracts and intermediary agreements.
Giannis Vrentzos, Chief Executive of Nottingham Forest, said:
“It has been great to have the assistance and advice of Walker Morris throughout this transfer window, especially in light of the Club Secretary role being vacant and the number of transactions that took place in such a short period of time. Having worked directly for a number of clubs she knows just what is needed and appreciates the regulations and deadlines that we have to adhere to. She has worked with us regularly over the last 2.5 years and we look forward to continuing the relationship with her and with the Sports Team at Walker Morris.”
