Walker Morris were awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Cup for their fundraising efforts at the Leeds Legal Walk 2021.
Organised by Access to Justice Foundation Yorkshire and supported by Leeds Law Society, the Leeds Legal Walk sees legal professionals and members of the judiciary walking 10k to raise funds to improve access to justice in Yorkshire for the most vulnerable in society.
Walker Morris entered four teams in total, a paralegal team, a trainee team, a recoveries team and a team that was joined by David Barraclough, co-organiser of the event (with Sue Harris of Walker Morris) and Catherine Woodward of Gordons LLP and President of the Leeds Law Society. The four teams raised a total of £1,768.75.
Sue Harris, Simon Clark and Rob Payne accepted the award on behalf of Walker Morris at the Leeds Law Society Annual Dinner on Thursday 12 May 2022 at the Queens Hotel, Leeds.
Sue Harris, Senior Director of Walker Morris, Secretary and Director of Leeds Law Society and committee member of Access to Justice Foundation Yorkshire said:

The Leeds Legal Walk raises vital funding to be able to provide much needed free independent legal advice to those who are vulnerable and in need of legal representation.”
The next Leeds Legal Walk will take place on Monday 27 June 2022. It starts at 5pm outside Leeds Combined Court Centre and ends with a reception provided by Leeds Beckett University (Leeds Law School) at the Rosebowl.
