Our team has a great deal of experience advising businesses in consumer law. Our work includes reviewing terms and conditions for compliance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
With the explosion in online sales seen in recent years, navigating the minefield of cancellation rights, delivery and returns charges and compliant marketing standards is increasingly challenging for traders.
We provide commercial advice for a range of firms from start-ups right through to established traders in the retail goods and services space. Clients come to us for help with compliant trading models and meeting the requisite safety, labelling and sales standards for in-store, mail order and online routes to market.
For certain goods, including electrical products, paints, toys and cosmetics, we provide detailed advice on the additional legal obligations imposed at all levels of the supply chain. This includes testing standards, labelling and CE/UKCA marking requirements.
When things go wrong, we can offer support with product recalls, managing customer complaints and dealing with Trading Standards investigations and prosecutions, including the availability of due diligence defences.
