With over 25 years’ experience as a corporate lawyer, Tim joins from Shoosmiths, where he was Corporate Partner and the Co-Head of its Infrastructure & Energy Sector Group. Tim has worked on a number of high-profile transactions in the energy, renewables, and waste to power sectors and has held senior management positions and NED roles in listed companies including Bglobal plc and Source BioScience plc.

The Walker Morris Infrastructure & Energy team is one of the largest dedicated infrastructure and energy teams outside London and is recognised for its industry-leading expertise in energy from waste, renewables and helping clients deliver Net Zero ambitions. The multi-disciplinary team advises clients on all aspects of energy and infrastructure projects from site selection and acquisition, planning and permitting, funding and structuring, through to procurement, construction, operation, regulatory compliance, refinancing, variations and dispute resolution.

Commenting on Tim’s appointment Ben Sheppard, Partner in the Infrastructure & Energy Team at Walker Morris, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Tim to the Infrastructure & Energy team at a time when the UK energy sector is changing rapidly and regulatory frameworks are constantly evolving to keep pace with Net Zero policies to deliver the decarbonised, decentralised and digital energy networks of the future.

Tim brings with him a distinct skill set focused on the sector and his unique and varied experience will further enhance the team’s capabilities to support clients investing in low carbon energy and infrastructure projects and delivering Net Zero ambitions.”

On joining the firm, Tim said:

“It is such an exciting time to be joining one of the UK’s few independent law firms outside the City with a first-rate Infrastructure & Energy team. Walker Morris’ entrepreneurial philosophy, excellent reputation and breadth of expertise give it a distinctive edge. I wanted to work for a firm that has a strong collaborative culture and am looking forward to working alongside such a high calibre team, where the client is firmly at the heart of everything they do.”

Tim’s appointment comes just after the firm announced a landmark 24 internal promotions at the beginning of May, including five partners – the largest number of partner promotions for over ten years – nine Directors, and ten Senior Associates.

Walker Morris has followed a strategy of investing in the full spectrum of commercial legal expertise including specialist practice areas such as energy and infrastructure, competition law, financial services and consumer finance which, typically, are reserved for City firms. While Walker Morris works with a number of Yorkshire clients, it also works with national and international clients, with a fifth of its clients headquartered overseas.
