Diversity & Inclusion Specialist

An exciting new role has arisen within our HR division for a Diversity and Inclusion Specialist who will be responsible for recognising, creating and implementing plans to promote diversity within the business. The role is hybrid working both from home and also at our head office in Leeds

This is an important and exciting addition to the business, reporting directly to the Managing Partner and Head of HR. It will focus on creating a truly positive experience for all our people, building on our work so far and implementing further plans to increase diversity and improve inclusion, making sure everyone at the Firm feels like they belong, are valued and can do the best work of their career.

In the first few months, you would have:

  • Gained a good understanding of all our current Diversity & Inclusion activity taking place across the business.
  • Met with partners/managers to understand what’s working well and what the challenges may be.
  • Built strong, cohesive relationships with HR, the Board, and our diversity forums.
  • Responsibilities of the role
  • Deliver the Inclusion & Diversity strategy with by creating strong buy-in and increasing understanding of D&I challenges
  • Ensure the firm continues to make progress ensuring the strategies and monitoring are in place to drive change.
  • Work with the Head of HR and managing partner to tackle Inclusion & Diversity challenges specific to each department and team.
  • Ensure a data driven, measurable and targeted approach to Diversity & Inclusion, ensuring we capture and monitor D&I data sharing insights and updates to drive progress.
  • Ensure we comply with our regulatory and external reporting requirements related to Diversity & Inclusion, for example Gender and Ethnicity Pay Gap and SRA reporting.
  • Collaborate with the senior management team to ensure Diversity & Inclusion is embedded in all areas of the employee experience.
  • Work with our Marketing Department and HR to promote the Diversity & Inclusion work we do both internally and externally.
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments and market best practice in Diversity & Inclusion

What you’ll need:

  • An understanding of Diversity and Inclusion best practice and some experience working within a D&I environment.
  • Organisational, project management and facilitation skills will be an essential part of this role
  • An aptitude for data and insights to drive change.
  • Previous experience partnering with senior stakeholders.
  • An ability to communicate with people at all levels, gaining their buy-in whilst at the same time challenging them.
